Are you a local and interested in feeding the BARF Diet but not sure where to purchase the meat from at a great price?  A fellow BARFer, Nicole Lavorgna, gave us the info on a local distributor with great prices!  Call Fells Point Meat at (410) 539-5600.  Ask for Leo!  Thanks Nicole!

We included another section on our websites main page called "Link of the Month".  We always receive emails with links to great items or services tailed for Great Danes so there's now a place to find all those great links!  You can find these links on our Main Page!  To start off this new section, we've added our first link that was donated to us by Roxane, Cedar's mom.  It is for gorgeous custom-made winter coats for Danes.  Visit www.warmwags.com

Much to our surprise, Kallie came into heat!  She is 3 months past her expected time, but better late than not at all.   We were very excited and so was she as she went to see Ruger.  The mating went well and we had a successful hook.  If this goes as expected, we should be having puppies around December 14th!

Jim, Kallie, Kyra and I paid a visit with Montana and her family!  Mom and daughter played together like they were puppies; romping around Montana's yard.  It was amazing the immediate respect that Montana paid Kallie.   The likeness of the two of them was also just as amazing.  From looks to personality.  We had to keep checking the collars to tell them apart!  Click Here to see some of the photos from our visit.

April 2008
On occasion I visit the local Great Dane Rescue website as to see who / if there are any Danes that we can help.  It had saddened me greatly to find Disney Von Emrick, one of our past puppies on their website.   This was the 2nd time this has happened within 8 years!  Per my contract, if for ANY reason you are unable to keep any puppy that leaves our home, it is a binding contract that you MUST contact me 1st so that I may take the puppy back; however, I had never been contacted by Disney's family.  What I read on the Rescue site was very reassuring though.  Disney was a well-trained, loved, and healthy Dane who's family had some unfortunate circumstances.  Please keep in mind that I would never judge anyone for contacting me in regards to one of our Danes needing to come back.  Much to my delight, Disney was quickly placed in a permenant loving home.

March 2008
I was contacted back in March by our local Dane Rescue because someone had dropped off Ms. Bijou Von Emrick.  Out of my 8 years of raising Danes, this was my 1st case of any puppy ending up at the Great Dane Rescue.  I was horrified. I wanted to immediately pick her up to bring her home with me however I was informed that the rescue had a perfect home for her if I preferred to not take her back.  They explained to me that someone had just recently lost their blue puppy at a very young age.  This home had a lot of land for Bijou and an owner that would spoil her to no end.  Weighing my options, I finally thought it would be in Bijou's best interest if she went to a home where she was the only Dane so that she could bond with her new family vs. coming back to our home with two other adult females.
